CHSA Funds Homes
Community Housing Services Agency, Inc. (CHSA) is a local nonprofit 501(c)(3) housing organization established in 1989 by the City of Savannah in partnership with banking and community leaders to create and retain affordable housing. We leverage public and private investments to bring housing opportunities to underserved neighborhoods in Chatham County.
Affordable Housing is a Complex Mission! It Includes:
Our Mission:
To facilitate the retention, improvement, and development of affordable quality housing and neighborhoods through innovative investments and partnerships.
Our Vision:
Creating communities in which safe and quality housing, neighborhoods, and living conditions are available and affordable to all.
CHSA oversees two main funds, the Savannah Affordable Housing Fund, and the CHSA Loan Fund. CHSA administers the SAHF for the City of Savannah. All loans are subject to loan committee approval as well as audit oversight from the Board of Directors of CHSA. Our service area includes all of Chatham County. See our Federal compliance statement.
On August 31, 2017, CHSA was certified by the U.S. Department of Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). CDFI’s are mission-driven private financial institutions who are committed to supporting low- to moderate-income and other underserved people and communities.
